Corporate Reporting

We help you create Reporting with panache which engages and inspires your stakeholders.

We take a Best Practice approach to Corporate Reporting, using recognised and established principles and innovative thinking to help you articulate your strategy and create Reporting which best conveys your investment case.

From the outset, we consider the content of your Reporting. We'll analyse your RNS announcements, your market and arrange 'think tank' sessions with your team before presenting detailed recommendations with objective Best Practice strategies to help ensure successful engagement with your audiences. It's one of the many reasons clients choose us for their inaugural Reporting post-IPO.

We’ve been on the panel of “The Future of Corporate Reporting” at Company Secretariat events and work on over 80 Annual Reports a year, helping clients including FTSE, AIM-listed, European and global companies.

Our strength lies in our flexibility. Major overnight or last-minute changes? No problem, thanks to our unrivalled in-house typesetting capacity. Changing mailing dates following late sign-off? Equally no problem, thanks to our in-house production and mailing. New design direction? Our panel of highly-experienced designers is here to help, whenever you need us.

We understand that not all companies are the same, so we'll spend time ensuring that your Report reflects your reality, whether it's a modest black & white Report or full colour, graphically-rich, print and digital suite of Reports.

From a compliance perspective, we'll keep you up to speed on changing regulations and requirements, suggesting practical and innovative solutions. What's more, we can help you meet ESEF, the European Single Electronic File regulations which require XBRL tagging, XHTML output and filing with the National Storage Mechanism.

However detailed or involved your Reporting, we can help. And as the only company in our sector independently accredited as providing World Class Service, we make the journey that much easier too.

  • Annual reports are comprehensive (100–200+ pages typically), filed or sent to shareholders once a year, and highly regulated. Interim reports are shorter, filed half-year, and less regulated but still important for investor engagement. We do both. Interim reports usually follow the design of the annual report but occasionally it's the other way around.
  • Regulatory essentials: financial statements, auditor's report, governance, remuneration report, risk disclosures, and s.172 statement - among many other critical areas. But Best Practice also includes: compelling narrative (strategy, market position, competitive advantage), business model explanation, KPIs, ESG and sustainability and other metrics. We advise on structure, content and balance, and our design team can help visualise your data graphically, while our content consultancy experts help you articulate key elements such as your investment case.
  • We benchmark against peers, check against recognised Best Practice reporting guidelines as well as FRC Corporate Reporting Lab guidance, and assess investor feedback. We also ask: is your strategy clear? Do investors understand your competitive advantage? Are your financials presented accessibly? Are you engaging with governance requirements or just ticking boxes? We'll tell you honestly.
  • Not fashion-led design for design's sake. Design should serve content: make strategy clear, make data accessible, make the report scannable for busy investors, and above all it should authentically convey who you are. We believe good design is invisible: investors are reading your content, not admiring your typography. That said, professional design builds credibility.
  • Yes. We can redesign and typeset, then export files to your current printer for printing and mailing. Many clients do this: they update design every few years but work with the same printer for production. Equally, some clients prefer us to handle the full cycle.
  • That's routine. We can usually turn around number changes incredibly quickly if we're typesetting your report. If an external agency has locked files, updates may take longer. This is one reason clients prefer working with us - we can flex.
  • Yes. We've done enough reporting to know what institutional investors and stakeholders actually want. We can advise on: narrative structure (what story comes first), data hierarchy (what metrics matter most), tone (how formal or accessible), and risk disclosure (how much detail, what tone). This is part of our consultancy offering.
  • This is one of our specialities. Post-IPO reporting is often challenging because companies are learning regulatory expectations while managing investor communications. We guide newly-listed companies through best practice, peer benchmarking, and regulatory compliance. Many of our clients are post-IPO companies.
  • Yes to both. Interim reports are quicker to produce than annual reports. A redesign mid-cycle is also possible - you're not locked into one design. If you want to test a new direction with an interim report before committing to the annual report, we can do that.
